Jennifer Attonito, Ph.D. has been an instructor and public health researcher at Florida Atlantic University since 2014. She has conducted extensive research in the areas of HIV and substance use and abuse. Her current areas of investigation focus on cannabis policies and effectiveness of medical cannabis therapies. Dr. Attonito served for six years on the Palm Beach County addiction treatment task force, led by Deputy State Attorney Dave Aronberg, working to improve local and state policy on housing and recovery programs for people with substance use disorders. Prior to entering academia, Dr. Attonito worked as an HIV education director at the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, American Foundation for AIDS Research (AMFAR), and the University of Miami Pediatric AIDS Program.
